For the second year in a row, we’re participating in the annual Cape Cod Getaway.
It’s a weekend-long cycling event covers 150 miles from Boston to the tip of Cape Cod to benefit a great cause – the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. It runs from June 29-30, 2013.
Like last year, Buildium is bringing some of its customers to the Boston area – including paying for their airfare, hotel, and bike rental – just so they can ride alongside Team Buildium: Property Cycled to raise money for this very worthy cause.
Buildium Co-Founder Dimitris Georgakopoulos spearheaded the company’s involvement in the event. For him, it’s been a great way to have fun and meet some amazing people. More than that though, he has a very personal reason to hop on his bike and encourage others to do the same.
“A friend of mine inspired me to participate in the MS ride in 2007. After riding for different teams for three years, a close family member got diagnosed with MS,” he says. “This personal connection motivated me to find ways to make a deeper impact. That, coupled with Buildium’s belief in giving back to the community, is what lead us to form our own team.”
Buildium’s goal this year is to raise $40,000 for MS research, and there are 31 Buildians on the team. Last year, 15 Buildians raised $25,000.
